McCartney’s of Moira is an Award-Winning Butchers, Delicatessen & Café Bistro based in Moira Co. Down.

Hours: 3 Day Week (24 hrs) Daytime hours on a rota basis. Closed on Sundays with the exception of the week before Christmas. Extra hours could be available at times to help with holiday cover of other Chef's. Also, candidates would be expected to work full time in the two weeks running up to Christmas to assist with increased production levels. 4 Weeks Annual Leave & 8 Statutory Days per year. Uniforms provided. Wages Monthly.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion and flair for food to work for our Award-Winning business. Join our Cafe Bistro Kitchen Team where along with regular service of breakfast, brunch & lunch you will also be creating & producing quality products for our Award-Winning Delicatessen & Café Bistro Counters.

We use fresh, local ingredients many of which are award winning in a modern well equipped kitchen prepared using a range of equipment including Merrychef Ovens, Rational Ovens, Hobs and Fryers.  The appointed chef/cook will be part for a team of 4 chefs.

Our Chefs prepare meals for our Café Bistro and also produce an extensive range of salads, ready meals, pastry products & breads for our in house Deli. In addition to this they bake scones & some dessert items for our Patisserie counter and are responsible for Cleaning & KP’ing. Cleaning Schedules, Cooking Records and HACCP Paperwork are to be completed daily.

Skills:

We are looking for a chef/cook who would consider themselves a good all-rounder & team player being able and willing to work in all areas of the kitchen – 12 Months experience working in a professional kitchen desired. Candidates must have the ability to communicate with their co-workers and have a positive approach to their work with the ability to work under pressure while managing and prioritising their own workload.

Candidates should have a passion for high quality food, a creative interest in food and cookery and ambition to help drive our Café Bistro forward & be confident in preparing quality dishes with only the finest locally prepared produced. Level 2 Food Hygiene is desirable. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to help maintain our 5* hygiene rating.
