Guinness Spiced Beef


Try this tasty method of preparing your spiced beef this Christmas

1 Piece of uncooked Spiced Beef (ask us to recommend a size)

1 onion, 1 carrot, 1 parsnip, 2 sticks celery

2 garlic cloves all chopped roughly

2 bottles regular Guinness (not stout)

Cold water to cover


Place the roughly chopped vegetables in the bottom of a large heavy bottomed saucepan. Place your spiced beef on the bed of vegetables. Slowly pour over the two bottles of Guinness and then top up with cold water until the beef is submerged.

Bring to the boil, and then simmer for approximately 30 minutes per pound.

Remove from heat & rest in liquid with lid on overnight.

Serve cold in wafer thin slices.
